APBioNet-ISCB Travel Fellowship Application 

A modest Joint APBioNet-ISCB fellowship fund is available to assist students and post-doctoral trainees in attending  InCoB/ISCB-Asia Joint Conference 2011 for the purposes of presenting their paper/poster. Only one author for a paper/poster will be eligible for a travel grant, and the applicant must be a member of APBioNET (contact asif -$- bic.nus.edu.sg) and/or ISCB (https://www.iscb.org/), and must attend all days of the conference (tutorial/workshop days where applicable). Applications for travel awards are hereby invited. All travel grant applications must be received by August 15, 2011 (23:59 GMT). Award decisions will finalized by September 1, 2011, at which time applicants will be notified by e-mail. The size of each award is expected to be approximately 500 SGD to be made on a REIMBURSEMENT BASIS either in cash at the Conference on the last day, or by Paypal e-payment (please create your own PayPal account) on the first day of the Conference. Please note that there is no registration fee waiver for fellowship awardees. You have to pay your registration fee using the EDAS system.

To apply for a travel fellowship, please e-mail the following information to Dr Asif Khan, APBioNet Secretariat: asif -$- bic.nus.edu.sg (replace -$- with @)

  • Legal name (for financial purposes)
  • Optional: Name and title by which you prefer to be addressed
  • Status (student, postdoc)
Note: Certification and/or proof of student or postdoc status must be presented at the Conference to the Registration Desk for the reimbursement to take place. DO NOT SEND scanned pdf or images.

  • E-mail address
  • Institution and location of institution (e.g., University of X, 999 University Ave., etc.) including country
  • Preferred mailing address, if different from university address
  • Brief statement about availability of other funding sources (quantum already awarded and/or being applied for)
  • Poster/Paper submission ID and Title (in Text Format)
  • Proposed Budget of the Trip and how much requested from APBioNet and for what purpose (in text format)
  • Brief CV with photograph and list of papers published in Word or PDF format.
  • Declaration of any previous APBioNet Fellowships awarded. (in text format)
All incomplete applications will not be processed. Please note that travel the grant award is subject to acceptance of paper/poster for presentation at InCoB2011.
