Welcome Address
Malaysia is very proud to host the InCoB/ISCB-Asia Joint Conference 2011. This will be the second time that Malaysia is hosting the International
Conference in Bioinformatics (InCoB) and we have welcomed many of you to our
shores in Penang in 2003. This year, we are privileged to work with both the
Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet) and International Society for
Computational Biology (ISCB) in ensuring the success of this conference and to
enable as many participants from the Asia Pacific, European, American and
African regions to come to Malaysia. The event this year will be jointly
organized by the Malaysia Genome Institute, Malaysian Universities and the
Malaysian Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology with the support
of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia. We are
pleased also to announce the support of a number of corporate sponsors of InCoB/ISCB-Asia Joint Conference 2011. Malaysia recognizes Bioinformatics as a key driver
of biotechnology as clearly outlined in our national technology road map on
Bioinformatics. We believe that the networking of Bioinformaticians as
demonstrated by this wonderful event is integral to the development of biotechnology,
science and technology for the region and also globally. We therefore
look forward to welcoming all of you to InCoB/ISCB-Asia Joint Conference 2011 in Malaysia.
